The Hebb Institute of Martial Arts provides a professional and progressive program of martial studies.

· To synthesize kickboxing, boxing, infighting, grappling, weaponry and other fighting aspects into an organic “whole,”

· How common tactical considerations exist in various arts,
· Integrated weaponry training that draws from the advanced areas of instruction in the Filipino, Indonesia and Malaysia martial arts,

The Magda Institute Association Phase Curriculum
The Phase Curriculum is divided into five phases and ten levels.
The five phases include:
· Beginning Phase 1,
· Phase 1,
· Phase 2,
· Phase 3, and
· Phase 4
The ten levels include:
· Beginning Phase 1,
· Phase 1,
· Phase 2,
· Phase 2-2,
· Phase 3,
· Phase 3-2,
· Phase 3-3,
· Phase 4,
· Phase 4-2, and
· Phase 4-3
Beginning Phase 1
In this orientation phase, students are introduced to the basic fundamentals of JUN FAN, MUAY THAI and FILIPINO Martial Arts that are the foundation for all the variations they will encounter in the more advanced levels. This phase emphasizes the mastery of key striking fundamentals along with proper use of training equipment, safety in stretching, correct attitude, training etiquette and physical fitness.
Phase 1
In this phase, students learn the fundamentals of JUN FAN, MUAY THAI and FILIPINO/INDONESIAN Martial Arts. Included are footwork and mobility, basic hand and foot tool development, energy training and trapping hands, defensive actions, angles of attack, basic weaponry deflections and counter attacks, single and double stick drills. Combination techniques and preparatory drills are initiated towards the end of this training phase. At the same time, the student's level of physical conditioning is increased gradually and progressively.
Phase 2
Building upon the foundation of Phase 1, students are introduced to kickboxing, sparring and sparring drills to develop offensive and defensive punching and kicking skills; the combining of hands and feet in attack and defense all under the careful supervision of the class instructor, infighting techniques and principles are introduced for the Indonesian Martial Arts. Basic grappling, locking and throwing will be introduced in this phase. Defensive and counterattack skills with weaponry expand to include the three basic ranges of combat; long, medium and close quarter, as well as including dagger, swords, staff, etc. The concept of flow is introduced with the training becoming more alive.
Phase 3
While maintaining and improving the skills developed in Phase 2, the more complex tactical elements utilized in both the empty hands and weaponry aspects of the curriculum will be introduced in this stage of training. Qualities such as timing, distance, rhythm and counterattack will be introduced, with the goal being the synthesizing of kickboxing, boxing, infighting, grappling, weaponry and other fighting aspects into an organic "whole."
Phase 4
The various advanced concepts, theories and principles introduced in Phase 3 are now explored in depth and emphasized, drawing various parallels on how the common tactical considerations exist in various arts. Weaponry training is deepened with the integration of the advanced areas of instruction in the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. The goal is to develop the understanding of the common threads that tie all martial art techniques and methods together.
The Magda Institute Association Cultural Curriculum
The Magda Institute Association Cultural Curriculum provides you with in-depth exposure to the Filipino and Indonesian martial arts.
The Filipino martial arts of Arnis, Escrima, and Kali are part of the curriculum. Within the curriculum, the Filipino arts are simply referred to as Kali. You will learn triangle footwork, angles of attack, ammarra, abecedario, sumbrada, sinawali, estoque pirada, numerado, and MORE!
The Indonesian martial art of Pentjak Silat is part of the curriculum. Within the curriculum, the Indonesian art is simply referred to as Silat. You will learn jurus, langkahs, sambuts, weapons, rahasia, and MORE!
The Hebb Institute of Martial Arts Cultural Curriculum
Wing Chun Gung Fu may also be available in the cultural curriculum as a result of the founder’s background. The Wing Chun program has been designed in the same manner as the Magda Institute Association’s Phase and Cultural Curriculum to ensure consistency throughout HIMA’s programs.
Within the curriculum, the Chinese art is simply referred to as Wing Chun. You will learn stances/footwork, conditioning, striking, blocking, developmental drills, forms, internal development, and MORE!
